What are aesthetics?

Aesthetics refers to many possible noninvasive and minimally invasive procedures that improve your appearance. These procedures include techniques ranging from lasers and radiofrequency devices to chemical peels and microneedling.

What type of aesthetic procedure is Botox®?

Botox, a purified, medical-grade form of botulinum toxin, works by blocking the nerve signals that make muscles contract. This action makes Botox perfect for treating deep, visible wrinkles, such as:

• Frown lines (vertical lines between your eyebrows)
• Crow’s feet (smile lines on the sides of your eyes)
• Forehead furrows (deep horizontal wrinkles on your forehead)
• Bunny lines (on the sides of your nose)

What type of aesthetic procedure is Juvéderm?

Juvéderm refers to a group of injectable dermal fillers that improve wrinkles and other aesthetic challenges that Botox can’t help. Dermal fillers target the wrinkles that develop due to age-related changes, such as the loss of skin’s strength and elasticity.  

You may choose Juvéderm to:

• Treat moderate to severe wrinkles around your mouth and nose
• Diminish small vertical lip lines (smoker’s wrinkles)
• Restore cheek volume
• Lift your cheeks
• Fill in scars

The Juvéderm products consist of hyaluronic acid mixed with a gel base. Hyaluronic acid is naturally produced in your body, where it’s essential for moist, hydrated skin. The Juvéderm gel base is specially formulated with a different consistency for each product.

After the team at Harlandale Clinic injects Juvéderm under the wrinkles or into your cheeks, it immediately plumps up the area. Your results last up to one to two years, depending on the product you receive and the area treated.* Like Botox, you can safely have another Juvéderm treatment when the results start to wear off.
